Fresh, authentic Japanese cuisine satisfies the eyes and the palate at Fujiyama in downtown Colorado Springs.

With nearly 30 years in business, Fujiyama has amassed a loyal following of diners for lunch, happy hour and dinner.

Guests will find the décor and dining experience to be as tasteful as the beautifully presented sushi rolls, with more than 100 varieties, from Mango Roll & Tiger Mask to Nacho Sushi. Other selections include sashimi, Bento, tempura, teriyaki, noodles, salads and hibachi-grilled meals.

For an upbeat vibe, there is a live jazz band on Friday nights.

A perennial “Best Of” Sushi winner for the past 15 years, Fujiyama was nominated in several categories this year.

The restaurant is named for Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest mountain that is considered “a special place of scenic beauty.” Fujiyama’s owners lived there for 15 years before bringing the lure of the East Asian culinary fare to Colorado Springs.
