The owner, general manager and head coach of the arena football team starting its second season in the Arena Football One league quit his teaching job of 13 years in Portland to fully focus on the Redmond-based Lightning. At 6 p.m. Saturday at the First Interstate Bank Center in Redmond, the Lightning host the Albany Firebirds of New York, the defending champions of the league, in their 2026 home opener. “I got good anxiety if that makes sense,” Jones said. “This is serious.
