Martin Lewis has shared a key pension check that you need to do to ensure your money does not go to an ex-partner.

The MoneySavingExpert has told people with private or workplace pensions to check their records for out-of-date information that could lead to accidental payments.

He explained in a recent episode of The Martin Lewis Money Show that many people fail to update their expression of wishes form, which tells pension trustees who you want to receive your savings if you die.

“It might be going to your former partner which you wouldn't really want,” he said.
