Ive just started using the prop firm FTMO to day trade / scalp forex. I would consider myself as a scalper as my most common stop loss size seems to be 4-5 pips but can also go as low as 1-2 pips or as high as 10-11 pips. Due to a small stop loss size, I have to enter with a larger lot size position, and that also means more commission. Becuase of this a 2RR trade can easily become a 1RR trade, as I get commissions deducted from profits, as well as commissions added onto losses. I trade the USD/JPY, and have a good win rate of roughly 67% and decent RR’s, ranging anywhere from 1-5RR. I have done some calculations in order to calculate how much I would have to risk to risk 1% of a $10000 account including commissions , and the minimum RR for a trade in order for the risk to reward ratio to be 1 including commissions,for a specific stop loss size. FTMO has a commission of $5/ lot.…
