New system advice, please? Greetings all! We are soon going to break ground on the construction of a new home. I have been doing passive research to this point, but now I have to start making some decisions. We live in semi-rural Kentucky, so I realize this may put me at somewhat of a disadvantage in terms of available and highly competent installers. I planned ahead, and my local power utility does offer net metering and the maximum system they will permit is 45kw. We have overhead power lines in our development, and then from there, they go underground to a ground-mounted transformer that then feeds your house. Knowing I wanted solar eventually, I had them install the absolute largest residential transformer they would for residential, and they assured me this transformer would support up to their limit of a system up to 45kw. Our property already has a 60x40 garage built, and the new home we will build will set in front of this detached garage.…
