Dame Dash is once again making headlines for his blunt takes on Jay-Z , this time targeting the legacy of the rapper's debut album, Reasonable Doubt . During a recent appearance on The Art of Dialogue , the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder dismissed the long-held belief that the 1996 project is a cornerstone of hip-hop. Instead, Dash pointed to its initial commercial performance as evidence that it wasn't as impactful as many claim. " Reasonable Doubt doesn't sell shit," Dash said. "Why do you think I gave it away? Nobody made no money off that, that shit barely went gold." He went further, arguing that the project's reputation is largely driven by those who experienced it firsthand, rather than newer generations of listeners.
