Dear Pay Dirt, My parents just gave me some rather unsettling news and I could use some advice on how to navigate it. I have two kids who are 6 and 9. My younger sister, “Amanda,” recently told my mother that she got sterilized three years ago, citing the end of Roe and the fact that she never wants kids and fears for her bodily autonomy in the current political climate. In response, my parents told me when I visited them last weekend that they plan to leave their entire estate to me and my children. Their rationale is that because Amanda won’t be having any kids, my family and I will need the resources far more than she will. I think they are unjustly punishing Amanda for making a life choice that is right for her.…
