A pilot and co-pilot were killed and more than 40 people injured when an Air Canada passenger plane collided with a fire truck on a LaGuardia Airport runway late Sunday, officials have said. The plane, a Jazz Aviation flight operating on behalf of Air Canada, struck a Port Authority vehicle that was responding a separate incident around 11:40 p.m., according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. There were 72 passengers and four crew on board Flight 8646 and Port Authority Executive Director Kathryn Garcia told a news conference early Monday that 41 people were treated for injured in local hospitals, some of them serious. So far 32 have been released from hospitals. Two other people, a sergeant and an officer, have broken limbs and are in stable condition, according to preliminary information from two sources with knowledge of the investigation. Garcia said the two officers had non-life-threatening injuries. Follow live updates here.…
