Vibe coding is to engineering what 3D printing is to manufacturing. Not a replacement. A collapse in the cost of bespoke tooling. Nobody prints load-bearing walls. Everyone prints the bracket, the jig, and the part too specific to buy and too small to justify. The same logic applies to software. Production systems don't get vibe-able — distributed transactions, security boundaries, audit trails. The bar there has gone up because plausible-looking wrong code is now free. What changes is the untoolable middle: the internal CLI you run twice a year, the migration script tied to the exact shape of your stack. Previously skipped or built badly. No longer.
