British Airways owner to raise ticket prices amid fuel shortage crisis

On the day that British Airways ’ parent company IAG said it is “making some pricing adjustments to reflect higher fuel costs”, Jet2 has ruled out surcharging holidaymakers. Meanwhile the boss of Brittany Ferries has hit out at transport companies that have not “hedged” their fuel requirements. This practice involves locking into a specific rate months in advance – protecting against a price surge. Jet2 has actually removed the surcharge provision in its terms, even though the company has never previously applied them. Steve Heapy, chief executive of Britain's biggest holiday company, said: “Holidaymakers should have every right to book their hard-earned break in the sun, without worrying about being hit with additional costs, and they can have that complete assurance when they book a flight or holiday with Jet2.…
