hi everyone! my husband and i are buying a home next month. we really want to manage our money better and here’s our idea, please let me know your thoughts:

Open a separate bank account for just bills: mortgage, electric, phone, insurance, etc.

We will put 1 months worth of bills in that account when we open it. Every time we get paid (biweekly) we will contribute half of the monthly expenses into that account. This way we are always prepared for the upcoming month. We will then budget the rest of our paychecks accordingly: savings, fuel, groceries, etc in a separate account.

Does this make sense to have 2 separate accounts, 1 strictly for bills?

Thank you!
