Feeling like I wasted time and money.

Anyone know if slopes in CA are worth making a weekend trip to for a new boarder? I’ve been wanting to go, but haven’t had the time - now that I do, the seasons over.

I’m new to boarding and finally decided I’d buy a pass and find cheap gear. I spent time snowboarding all VERY small slopes that were opened for maybe a month, max - perfectly fine because I was able to do something I really wanted! I made my money back because I was going so frequent. I had multiple trips planned but sat around and waited for others to “join me” - I should have just went solo. CO had a decent amount of snow but of course wasted my time waiting for others…

Now I’m seeing that it snowed last week in CA, slopes announced closing dates would be extended. Is it worth making a trip and staying? I haven’t been able to see anyone post current conditions unless it’s black slopes. Ideally I’d want to pay for a lesson as well.

Hopefully this is the right sub.
