Ms Kapur was suspended and subsequently sacked from Djanogly City Academy, Nottingham, in early 2025 for drinking alcohol while teaching. Witnesses reported Ms Kapur slurring her words, acting in an exaggerated manner, and appearing unsteady, before throwing up in a staff toilet. Ms Kapur admitted to making a “grievous error” but claimed she unknowingly drank from a water bottle containing gin from a “birthday weekend” and “chugged it to stop myself vomiting” when she realised. She is prohibited from teaching indefinitely, with the possibility to apply for her prohibition order to be set aside in April 2028.…
