Tom Hanks Explains Woody’s Bald Spot in ‘Toy Story 5,’ Calls It a ‘Worn Area’

Tom Hanks has revealed why Woody (whom he voices) will have a shiny bald spot in Toy Story 5. The actor gave a surprisingly realistic answer when speaking to Entertainment Weekly, which makes a lot of sense. “He has been playing with, to excess,” said Hanks about Woody’s changing appearance. “You put a rubber hat on top of a rubber head again and again and again, something’s going to chafe,” he continued. “So yeah, he does have… let’s say a worn area on the back of his head. It’s not just Woody’s hair (or lack of) that’s changing in Toy Story 5.
