I'm not too much of a gardener and I don't care much for the hostas but I'd like to split them because I'm decorating around a big tree I have. I don't really want to dig up the whole plant and then replant it I was just thinking of separating the leaves and slicing it down the middle and just digging out half the plant instead of the whole plant. I know it will damage it more than removing the whole plant and carefully splitting but these things are insanely resilient and durable plants so has anyone just shovel cut them to split? submitted by /u/LeftSquare1 [link] [comments]
