It's the Met Gala , aka fashion's biggest night. This year, the theme is "Costume Art." Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton told CNN , "The title 'Costume Art' refers to the history of the Costume Institute. [Fashion has] the status of art because of, and not in spite of, its relation to the body." The dress code as always, is related to but not identical to the theme. For 2026, the dress code is "Fashion Is Art." Of course, this year's Met Gala is not without controversy, with many side-eyeing the fact that billionaire Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchéz Bezos, are sponsors and honorary co-chairs.
