A global memory crunch could push the touchscreen MacBook Pro into 2027

A lot of people have been holding off on buying a new MacBook specifically because of what’s reportedly coming later this year. The touchscreen MacBook Pro has been one of the most talked-about Apple products in recent memory, promising an OLED display, a Dynamic Island cutout, and touch input for the first time in Mac history. But according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman , a global memory shortage may be pushing that timeline back. Gurman had previously placed the launch window somewhere between late 2026 and early 2027. In his latest Power On newsletter, though, he says people should now brace for the later end of that range. Early 2027 is reportedly looking more likely than a fall 2026 release, with the chip shortage being the main culprit. The Mac Studio Is Caught Up in This Too It’s not just the touchscreen MacBook Pro feeling the squeeze. The Mac Studio was previously expected to land around mid-2026. Some even suggested WWDC in June as a likely window.…
