The punch hole on the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s cover screen is already pretty small. But Samsung may be shrinking it even further on the Galaxy Z Fold 8. According to a new leak from well-known tipster Ice Universe , the Galaxy Z Fold 8 camera cutout on the cover display will measure just 2.5mm in diameter. That’s down from 3.7mm on the Fold 7, which works out to a roughly 33% reduction. Ice Universe says Samsung adopted new technology to pull this off. However, the tipster also suggested the actual camera hardware may not have changed. So it’s less about a new sensor and more about how Samsung is fitting it into a tighter space. The leak only references the cover screen cutout specifically, so whether the inner display punch hole is also getting smaller hasn’t been confirmed yet.
