AMC is officially heading down Thunder Road . The cable network has greenlit the NASCAR drama series that has Dennis Quaid starring. Deadline first revealed the project was in the works in November and broke the news that the Reagan star was attached earlier this month. The announcement came as part of AMC Global Media’s Upfront showcase in New York. Thunder Road follows the multi-generational saga of the fictional Whitlock family, whose legacy in stock car racing is as deep as the family’s ties to the Southern hill country roots that shaped them.
