Hi! I’m planning on few-day trip out to the eastern Sierras next month and had many lessons learned from doing this trip last year. Major one being I need better pants. I have such a hard time finding good quality pants that fit me well so I was wondering if other women had recommendations for warm 2-3L pants that fit well and don’t restrict mobility. I tend to swell when I’m hiking high altitudes so I’m hoping to get something with decent stretch but strong enough to keep warm and not tear easily Last year I hiked out with my first pair of hiking pants, the Outdoor Research convertible pants. Wasn’t a huge fan of them in general and especially not in the sierras without layering. I grew out of the OR pants last year after putting some extra weight on and have been using the prAna Zion cargo pants and I already know those won’t be good for the sierras in terms of durability and warmth. I do have wider hips so that’s definitely my biggest issue with finding the right pants.…
