CPA with 20 years of experience let go at end of April from what appears to be a sinking ship of an accounting firm. Returns aren’t done that have been in since March 13. clients are calling pissed off because they fired half the tax staff so I’m kind of happy to be gone. Been applying have had 4 interview requests. one found my resume. I turned him down. The other two I turned down one the commute was too far and the other just seemed weird and kind of sketchy. Fourth was with the state I got invited for a second round but turned that down because the pay was terrible. 55 to 60k. I know it’s gonna pay less than private but damn. been picking up some contract work helping my friend that has her own firm out of her house and thankfully don’t have a ton of expenses. talked to a lot of recruiters and one has sent my resume to a role that sounds promising. I know it takes time to find the right fit. I have a vacation planned the week of June 14 to June 19 so I plan to hit the search hard when I come back.…
