W ith the recent successful completion of the Artemis II mission, there’s been a lot of discussion around which watches the crew wore, and other watches that have been in space and on the moon. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to know that most of the watches worn by the Artemis crew were, in fact, Omega Speedmasters, Gen 2 X-33s to be exact. But while the Swiss watch industry has long laid claim to its involvement in space exploration, few people know the story of “the other moon watch” with ties right here in New York City.
