The former Poker Palace in North Las Vegas is expected to reopen as Club Fortune North in late June. Reno-based Truckee Gaming purchased the Poker Palace in October for $20 million and closed it to remodel the casino, which was initially expected to reopen in mid-April. “The renovation ended up being almost a complete redo,” Truckee Gaming CEO Ferenc Szony said Tuesday. “It’s kind of like you get an old house and you say, ‘We’re just going to do the kitchen and bathrooms,’ and the next thing you know, you’re doing a lot more. “The project grew on us but I think it grew in a good way. It’s really going to have a contemporary feel and look and is going to be dramatically different from what people remember Poker Palace as, which was an older building that had been added on to multiple times.” The Poker Palace opened in 1974 at its Las Vegas Boulevard North location near Nellis Air Force Base.…
