A person is thought to have been critically hurt when a truck rolled in Roxburgh this afternoon.

Police said they were notified about 3.15pm that the vehicle had rolled on Teviot St.

"Initial indicators are that someone has critical injuries."

They said the Serious Crash Unit had been advised and motorists were advised to avoid the area.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand said crews from Roxburgh, Alexandra and Millers Flat were in attendance.

Police and ambulance were also at the scene.
