The "creeping" homogenisation of digital nomad destinations

Pardon me if this has been raised before. I have noticed in my travels the, what I call, creeping homogenisation of digital nomad destinations to the point that they are losing their original character to what I also refer to as the "avo-toast-and-soy-latte" blur. The moment a trendy looking brunch bar opens in a new digital nomad market the surrounding area becomes a lose copy of those Bali-style coffee bars, thai-style massage parlours, loud banging music gyms Cape-Town-style, and over colourful clothing and souvenir Mexico-style shops. Rent prices rocket and real estate doubles in value. Is anybody else now looking on Google maps for brunch locations at a potential new location to move to and then avoiding those locations precisely because they have any of those brunch-with-hollandaise-sauce-over-everything-dishes eateries? Maybe it is just the evolution of the English bread and breakfast tradition that surfaced in the south of Europe.…
