One can play detective, theorise between scenes and chapters, and be part of the investigation. If you want to understand the story, your lights have to be on. Who-done-it mysteries are not made for the second screen if you want to guess the murderer. Stories like these truly do not get old. They are a mixture that combines mystery , comedy , and suspense , and therefore will always be timeless . No need to have the seriousness or disturbing images of a Psychothriller, or to use jumpscares to stay entertaining. You don’t even have to relate to the detective on a personal level to feel connected. The heart of this genre is the mystery , and if you want to find out who did it before the detective does, you need to think outside of the story.…
