Samsung has spent the better part of a decade building the foldable phone market from scratch. Now a small US company wants to undo all of that , at least in this country. Lepton Computing LLC has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, asking the court for a permanent Samsung foldable ban covering the entire Galaxy Z lineup. The lawsuit, filed April 24, targets the Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy Z TriFold , alleging that all three infringe on nine patents covering foldable display technology. Lepton claims its founder, Stephen Delaporte, began developing foldable display tech in the early 2010s, well before Samsung brought its first foldable to market in 2019. The company also says it held meetings with Samsung executives as far back as 2013. Lepton claims it shared prototypes and technical details during those talks, and that Samsung pushed ahead anyway with full knowledge of its patents.…
