EDIT: RESOLVED! Many thanks to everyone who commented, y’all are overwhelmingly helpful lol

I’m getting rid of the river rock front lawn so I can plant grass or clover. I’m using a shovel and a metal rake, I’ve already gotten rid of the clean top layers of rock by piling them up and letting people from Facebook free scoop, but no one wants the bottom layer that’s equal parts dirt and rock. What are some ways I can split those up? Trying to buy/rent tools as little as possible.

To those who will ask “why would you do that?” I’m young, I have the time, and I like green. I know grass is high maintenance, but I’m up for it.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!
