The former mayor of Bracknell Forest has been jailed for three years for helping her son to cover up his rape of an unconscious teenage girl. Naheed Ejaz, 61, who was mayor of Bracknell Forest in Berkshire from May 2023 to May 2024, was earlier found guilty at Winchester Crown Court of perverting the course of justice. Her son Diwan Khan, of Bracknell in Berkshire, had raped the girl in his car in Hampshire in July 2024 after giving her drug-laced vodka. The 41-year-old, who served as his mother’s mayoral consort, was jailed for 12 years and given a five-year extended licence period upon release for rape and perverting the course of justice. He was also made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for 20 years, an indefinite restraining order, and will be on the sex offenders register for life. Ejaz stalled police as they sought to arrest her son at his home following the rape.…
