The New York Rangers look like they are going to have some roles up for grabs on their team for the 2026-27 season heading into the summer. President and general manager Chris Drury will assuredly be looking outside of the organization for upgrades, but some intriguing young pieces emerged down the stretch of the 2025-26 campaign that will factor into the mix as well. One of those players is Jaroslav Chmelar. A fifth-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, he forced his way into the lineup with the Rangers with productive play in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack. It was an impressive jump by the young winger, who wasn’t in the team’s plans going into the year but ended up playing in 22 straight games to end the season, playing in 28 NHL games total this past year.
