Hi everyone,
I’m writing a part for ska punk guitar as a composer but semi-guitarist. The chords are comprised of the top three or four strings, the rhythm is straight eighth offbeats, and the tempo is ~180bpm. My question is - would you guys recommend trying to play this by doing double strokes, or fast eighth note single strokes (presumably muting all the on beats either way)?
It’s much easier to play at tempo doing double strokes, but my accuracy is a lot lower especially hitting the D string without low E and A. Single strokes are more accurate, but harder to play fast. Just curious how experienced players would do this.
Either way, I’m looking to practice lots and I want to know if either way is preferred before I invest too much time. Thanks!
