Hello, I am a materials engineering undergraduate 1st year student, and it's been years since I was interested in the nuclear industry. My first year has been a bit of a disaster; I failed 2 courses out of 10 (Algebra and Calculus II), but my GPA remains at 2.5 because, luckily, I did better in other courses. I am certain I can push that GPA to at least a 2.9+ by the time I finish my degree, but those 2 failed courses (and knowing myself, I don't think I can push it more than a 3.1 or so) look very bad if I try to apply in a future. To compensate, how could I strengthen my portfolio if I want a career in the nuclear industry? Also, I am considering taking an Erasmus in my second or third year, because I'm interested in working abroad, and I think it could be good to get familiarised with studying outside. (I am currently studying at Catalonia's polytechnic university, apparently, it is a solid technical university in the south of europe) Thank you if you leave me any insights!…
