Published May 1, 2026, 10:15 a.m. ET “Are we having fun yet?!” That hacky line from a beer commercial haunted Henry Pollard, Adam Scott’s unsuccessful actor character on the beloved sitcom Party Down , for much of the series’ short-lived run (and brief 2023 revival ). Though neither the ad nor Henry’s career is real, and though Scott himself wasn’t especially famous when Party Down debuted back in 2009, it feels like the central question of his subsequent leading-man career. There are the versions of Adam Scott who are having fun, and the versions who are not. The new horror movie Hokum features one who is definitely not, though it only enhances the experience. The sitcom role Scott is best-known for is one he got shortly after Party Down : Ben Wyatt, the teenage mayor turned national punchline turned nerdy small-town government official, who fell in love with and eventually married Amy Poehler’s overzealous idealist Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation .…
