Despite 8 Straight Losses, Terry Francona Not Ready to Make Changes to Lineup

One of the main reasons players have always loved playing for Terry Francona is his loyalty. Despite losing 10-0 to the Astros on Friday, which was their eighth straight loss, Francona told the media he's not so sure he's ready to make changes to the lineup. “ I’ve thought about a lot of those things,” Francona told Charlie Goldsmith of Charlie's Chalkboard . “I’ll do what I think makes sense. I won’t do what I don’t think makes sense. If we don’t have guys hitting and you start playing lineup bingo, there has to be a reason to do something.” While a part of you has to admire Francona's loyalty to his players, the other part of you has to wonder what it will take to make changes. TJ Friedl has batted leadoff for the Reds in every game he's played this season. He's hitting .188 with an OPS of .543. It doesn't matter how you spin it, that simply isn't good enough and it could be debated if Friedl should even be playing as much as he is, let alone hitting leadoff every night.…
