A year ago, BYD launched the original Seagull, a more affordable electric vehicle (also known as the Dolphin Surf in Western markets) which targets buyers looking for a low-cost EV which can easily zip through small towns and cities. With that said, the company has now unveiled a follow-up with the 2026 BYD Seagull, which recently made its debut in China . Priced starting at 69,900 yuan (or around $10,290), the 2026 Seagull’s newest feature is an optional LiDAR add-on, something that’s not really seen on smaller and more affordable EVs.
