Beavers back in the losers bracket after one-run loss to Cougars on Friday The Oregon State Beavers baseball team is back in a familiar postseason spot — the losers bracket. The Beavers (43-13) dropped their postseason opener, 3-2, to Washington State (31-26) at the 2026 Eugene Regional at PK Park on Friday, May 29. It’s the second-straight year Oregon State found itself in the losers column to open a regional, faltering against Saint Mary’s at the 2025 Corvallis Regional. The Beavers went on to win that regional regardless of how game one went; now they’re looking to do it again. “That just brings you closer together,” Oregon State third baseman Vazquez said about the team’s situation. “At this point, you’re fighting to play baseball one more day, so you’ve got to just have a lot of fun doing it.
