I really want to hear the end of Donald Trump's ballroom shenanigans, but unfortunately, today isn't that day —especially after learning that Republicans have proposed a funding bill that includes $1 billion set aside for security improvements for the upcoming ballroom. Yes, that's $1 billion of your taxpayer dollars. If you recall, Trump was adamant for months that the ballroom would not utilize taxpayer dollars. "We did this at no charge to the taxpayer whatsoever. This was all donations made by friends of mine and people that love our country," he said at the Governors dinner back in February 2026. "It will be totally, totally tax-free. Not one penny of tax will be donated to this." He also continually gave different figures for the cost of the ballroom. "I think it'll cost 250 million dollars," he said in September. He then quoted "about $300 million" in October. The figure rose again in December to approximately $400 million. "I think I'll do it for less, but it's [$400 million]," he said.…
