Although the Liar Paradox was known in antiquity, the surviving textual record from that period is sparse. By contrast, medieval treatments of the Liar develop along two relatively well-preserved and parallel lines: one in the Islamic world, primarily in Arabic, and the other in the Christian world, primarily in Latin.
