MasterChef’s Matt Tebbutt breaks silence on BBC sacking

01:26

Matt Tebbutt has revealed that he was “really upset” to leave his MasterChef hosting role.

The TV chef was announced as the replacement for Gregg Wallace on MasterChef: The Professionals, joining judges Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti.

However, in February, Tebbutt confirmed that he will not be returning to a full-time judging role.

Discussing his exit on BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme, Tebbutt told host Jaega Wise that leaving the show was difficult.

“I mean, I’m not going to say I wasn’t upset. I was really upset. And it could have been handled a lot better. But it is what it is.”
