After an impressive WNBA debut from former West Virginia women’s basketball guard Jordan Harrison, she will be looking for a new place to carve out a role at the professional level. The Portland Fire announced on Monday afternoon that they would be waiving the former Mountaineer. The announcement came just hours before the team was scheduled to face the New York Liberty. The Fire became the WNBA’s fifteenth franchise after a 24-year-long hiatus. Harrison was picked up as an undrafted free agent after the WNBA Draft last month, earning a roster spot in training camp, and seemed to be working her way to having a role for the team in their return season.
