Hello, My parents have a 60 lb Australian Cattle Dog mutt that is now too much dog for them. She is VERY prey driven and has caught dozens of animals, all while being leashed, here in suburban IL. They got her after my sister passed away in 2020, the dog is a rescue that had been returned several times to the shelter. I moved back in with my parents in 2024 after my mom had a nasty fall while walking the dog, the dog was chasing something and my mom hit the pavement hard enough to knock her out. My mom had a broken clavicle, two broken toes, a sprained ankle, a sprained wrist, a concussion, and a very worried son. Since then I have taken care of the dog full-time. She doesn't really know how to play, she's too smart for that. She really only gets stimulation on our very long walks or very long belly rubs. As a human in this current iteration of society, I need to make a living and can't walk her and rub her belly all of my waking hours. I tried for awhile, it just didn't work out.…
