The hits continue to come for the New York Mets , as another starter is on his way to the injured list. This time it is catcher Francisco Alvarez, who left Tuesday night's game with what the team called a right knee injury . After undergoing further testing on Wednesday, it was announced that the 24-year-old had suffered a tear in his meniscus and will be placed on the 10-day IL. He immediately grabbed at his right knee and hobbled gingerly around the plate before manager Carlos Mendoza and the Mets trainer came out to take a look at the young catcher and remove him from the game. Alvarez has had horrible injury luck throughout his career and is coming off of a season where he appeared in just 76 games.…
