The BMC has charted plans to construct a third north-south link which will alleviate existing congestion on the Western Express Highway and the Mahim causeway junction. It also establishes connectivity to SV road, Sena Bapat road as well as the Bandra Worli Sea Link. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to build a 1.3-km flyover between Mahim and Bandra to ease congestion on the Western Express Highway and Mahim Causeway. Estimated to cost Rs 220 crore, the flyover will pass over the Mithi River and is expected to reduce travel time on the busy north–south corridor by about 20–25 minutes. What is the project?  For commuters travelling along the western front in Bandra, there are only two north-south connectivities – the Mahim Causeway and Bandra Sea Link’s toll road.
