A court in Bodeli in Chhota Udepur district on Thursday remanded newly-elected Congress corporator of Ward 15 of Vadodara Municipal Corporation Ashish Joshi, a former BJP leader, to one-day police custody in a case registered under Prohibition Act that has rapidly snowballed into a political flashpoint. Joshi, who has alleged a conspiracy and political vendetta to silence him, was arrested by officers of the Sankheda police station after being detained by Ramol police in Ahmedabad at 11pm on Wednesday.
