Can someone please help me understand my boss’s thinking on this When wiring a gas furnace with heat pump to a Honeywell T8000 he says you have to wire to the conventional terminals and tell the Tstat it’s a heat pump with gas back up heat I don’t understand why you wouldn’t use the Heat Pump designations on the Tstat terminals I had to fix a job yesterday where the heat pump wouldn’t fire and after calling tech support we realized he wired to the conventional designations and I had to swap them over When I explained this to him, he doubled down and claims he has always wired to the conventional designations and then told the Tstat it’s a heat pump That just doesn’t make any sense to me at all submitted by /u/PipeFitter-815 [link] [comments]
