A few months ago a saw an image of a test piece that someone had set-up as a manner of practicing all positions, it was almost like a small fabrication project that had flat, vertical, horizontal and overhead positions all on different sections of the piece as well and some of these positions in F, G and P all together so a trainee/apprentice can go from one position and joint to the other. Having seen it once, I now cannot find it and we have two apprentices who I think would benefit from the practice these workpieces would give them when they have quiet time in the shop. More beneficial for them than picking up work fabricating guards etc alongside out contract partners when we dont have a huge amount of proper welding going on in our department.
