So it comes as little surprise that Coppola was just as specific about building her own personal beach house. For two decades, the sleek and spacious structure has served as a head-clearing retreat for both Coppola and the guests who book it at Turtle Inn in Belize , a jewel in The Coppola Hideaways’ hotel portfolio. “It’s special to me because my kids grew up going there,” says the Oscar -winner, noting that the project wrapped when her oldest daughter Romy, now 19, was just a baby. Coppola relies on it as a serene spot to take writerly refuge, or to escape the world with family and friends.
