Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk is facing major criticism after recently accepting an honorary degree from Hillside College on behalf of her late husband, Charlie Kirk, and herself. People online seem to take two major issues with the degree, and both are steeped in what they believe to be hypocrisy. Issue One: Charlie Kirk infamously believed college is a "scam." The late podcaster wrote a book titled  The College Scam: How America's Universities Are Bankrupting and Brainwashing Away the Future of America's Youth, in which he argues that college degrees are "useless." During a Turning Point USA event, Kirk expanded on these ideas , arguing that students are "filled with really bad ideas" and "if you look at the amount of money that you have to spend to go, the amount of time you spend here, and the ideas you have to endure, I do believe [college] is a scam."
