Hey everyone, I'm planning a two-week trip to India at the end of August / beginning of September and I'd love some honest advice from people who've actually been there. A bit of context: I'm not looking for a polished itinerary or a resort experience. I want something raw, real, and a bit adventurous β€” the kind of trip where things don't always go according to plan and that's completely fine. My main question: north or south? East or west? I genuinely have no strong preference and I'd rather go somewhere that makes sense for the season than fight the monsoon somewhere it's brutal. I'm comfortable with basic accommodation, long bus or train rides, street food, and figuring things out on the fly.
