Kathleen Jane Johnson April 29 1949 – December 4, 2025 Kathleen Jane Johnson — beloved mother, Grammy, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend — passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, after a courageous thirty-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was 76 years old. Kathy was born in The Dalles, Oregon, in April 1949 to Merle and Mary Agnes Miller. She grew up in Sherman County, Oregon, where she developed the warmth, resilience, humor, and deep sense of community that would define her throughout her life. After attending Oregon College of Education, Kathy moved to Bend, Oregon, where she began a career in education that became both her calling and her joy. She taught preschool and kindergarten through AAUW before continuing her work in primary education with the Bend-La Pine School District, teaching grades one through five. Kathy loved her students wholeheartedly, and teaching was never simply a profession to her — it was an extension of her generous spirit.…
